The aftermath of Deng's reforms were the exact opposite of what Deng wanted to happen. Children of the so called immortals messed everything up, and made inequality rates skyrocket. In this high bracket of people that includes all of the immortals offspring, all the companies and production lines etcetera have a combined worth of 1.6 trillion USD (1/5th of china's GDP). This in itself should demonstrate how crazy the divide is between rich and poor.
These thoughts directly contradict the idea of communism, as equality doesn't exist in this sort of situation (not everyone can have a trillion dollars). The idea that this equality is also being breached through the redaction of the ability to go anywhere on the Internet is completely foreign to me as an American, and it just goes to show how corrupt this system truly is. Something that further demonstrate this is when an average civilian can be construed as an adversary of the government for wanting to Google something.
the very idea that a country would try to reform its idea system, and have that go extremely well, then have it backfire and go the other way is appalling. the people who are a part of the bigger picture need to open their eyes and realize that the wealth gap between them and the poor is only going to lead to an uprising. the communistic principles of the past are being misconstrued for someones own gain, while leaving all else in the dust, and if this is truly what a world power looks like, then it wont be powerful for long.
